Paola is an educator with deep Salvadorian roots, and she’s been on a mission to take control of her PCOS and overall wellbeing. With infectious energy and relentless drive, she uplifts everyone around her while working hard to achieve her goals.
A Journey Sparked by PCOS
Paola’s fitness journey began in 2018 after being diagnosed with PCOS. Determined to manage her symptoms and live a healthier life, she immersed herself in learning how exercise and nutrition could make a difference. “It was overwhelming at first,” she admits. “But I knew I needed to be proactive about my health.”
When she wanted to find a community that would support and propel her progress, she discovered Charge Fitness. “I came across Charge while researching online, and I was immediately drawn to their positive, inclusive vibe,” she shares. “It felt like a place where everyone could belong, regardless of their fitness level.”
Finding Her Tribe at Charge
Joining Charge Fitness was the missing piece in Paola’s health journey. The welcoming environment, small group training formats, and certified trainers and experts who understood her struggles made a world of difference. “Knowing I’d be surrounded by people on their own health journeys, with trainers who genuinely cared, made me feel more confident about committing to my routine,” she says.
Formats like BaCon and Strength & Conditioning quickly became her favorites. “The variety keeps things fresh and fun,” Paola explains. “The encouragement from trainers and fellow members pushes me to give my best every time.” Beyond the workouts, Paola also appreciates the nutrition coaching with PCOS-friendly recipes from Charge’s Nutritionist, which have helped her make better dietary choices to manage her condition.
Balancing It All
Living with PCOS is no small feat, but Paola has developed strategies to make it manageable. She carefully plans her workouts and meals and listens to her body when it needs rest. “Taking a rest day or mental break without guilt has been a game-changer,” she notes. Her motivation? Remembering her “why”: staying proactive about her health and feeling her best. “Every effort I make helps me manage my symptoms, and that keeps me going,” she says.
The support from the Charge Fitness community has been key in Paola’s progress. The trainers and fellow members inspire her, reminding her that she’s not alone in her journey. “The sense of belonging and encouragement here is like nothing I’ve experienced before,” she adds.
Staying Active and Inspired
Paola isn’t just about gym workouts—her active lifestyle is multifaceted. She loves hiking local trails, trying out new fitness classes, and even salsa dancing. “Salsa is such a great way to express myself and have fun while staying fit,” she says with a smile. And she’s passionate about cooking and experimenting with healthy recipes, often using PCOS-friendly ideas from Charge’s Nutritionist and sharing her creations on her blog. “One day, I’d love to launch my own health brand or write an ebook to inspire others,” she says.
Building Strength and Pushing Through
Since joining Charge, Paola has noticed a huge boost in her strength and confidence. “I’ve made incredible progress, and it feels empowering,” she reflects. One memorable moment was pushing through a grueling group workout she never thought she’d complete, thanks to the support from her trainer and peers. That experience showed her the power of a supportive environment and reinforced her belief in her own strength.
What’s Next for Paola?
Her current goals include increasing her lifting strength and improving her flexibility. She’s all about finding balance, knowing that every step forward is a step toward greater health.
But she isn’t slowing down by any means! Paola is committed to making fitness a lifelong habit and dreams of inspiring others through her wellness journey. Her advice to those still on the sidelines? “If you’re nervous to start, just take that first step,” she encourages. “The Charge community is so welcoming and supportive. Progress is personal, so go at your own pace. You’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish.”
